I know it wont be an honorable, which is kinda sad if hes really trying his best. It wont be bad i guess, but I think any discharge other than honorable looks bad on a resume. We have a girl who cant pass and they just lied on her test, unflagged her, promoted her, then put the flag back on.

DEFINITELY NOT! It might be an other-than.... but I'm pretty sure it could be dishonorable. For the navy he could be charged with Defamation of government property (just because he gained a few pounds) and Article 92 Failure to obey a lawful order. If his command tells him to PT and he decides to eat instead, he's disregarding that order. No disrespect, but I don't see the Air Force pting much anyway. You guys are smart as hell and your marching is ALWAYS on point.... But you're not the best at all when it comes to pting.

It will NOT be a dishonorable or other than honorable. You have to do something BAD (crinimal) to get that. It would be an administrative discharge. Not 100% sure, but I think that is the same as honorable, just without the benefits that one would get after getting a regular honorable. GI bill, VA loans, etc.

First, I'd suggest moving to a blue state. Matter of fact, that's the only thing I'd suggest.

Thank you Thomas for the correct answer. I love these people who are not in the air force answering an air force question. I also love the not much pt coming from a navy guy...funny, we used to say the same thing about you guys.
Anyway, without enough info, it is wrong to assume that just because someone cannot pass a pt test, that they are overweight or not trying. There are many factors. Is the test being given in extreme heat and humidity? Is the test being given after the guy just finished a long shift? Does the guy have an undiagnosed medical condition that may be hindering his performance...arthritis, asthma, FM, etc.?) Has he recently been on TB medication? There is just too much to list. However, as thomas put it, it would be an honorably discharge as long as everything else in the guys service pointed to that. BTW, there are plenty of overweight people who pass their pt tests. As his supervisor, it is your responsibility to investigate all avenues if you believe your troop is a good troop and trying his best.

I am not sure if I understand the question, but I will venture a guess at the answer: if you have been found, say, to be a sex addict, or convicted of a sex crime, it is reasonable that you make restitution in the way prescribed, and you may have to attend and show proof of attending, a recovery group. I would imagine another thing helpful/needed, are letters of recommendation from the recovery group (sponsor, etc) and your acquaintences with good reputation that know you. Maybe this was of some help, hopefully. Good luck.

I am a lawyer...the way admission to the bars usually works is you make an application, which usually requires you to disclose convictions, arrests etc...only certain crimes by the way are considered ones of moral turpitude. You also supply references in your application--the references can be checked and if they cannot be verified, you will be questioned. You also supply an employment background which is also checked and if not verified you will be questioned on that as well. Some bars also require an interview with a member of the Bar (New York does for example) and you will be questioned about your background and experience and any answers on your application that you make...
You then wait for the bar admissions people to either accept your application or not. You are presumed to have moral fitness unless they find cause to show you aren't. If you are found unfit, the way to show fitness is to demand a hearing, gather evidence of fitness--documents suggesting you have been rehabilitated, witnesses in the form of people with some reputation and good standing themselves, who know you and will testify as to your rehabilitation and character.
If you have committed a heinous crime or one of moral turpitude, you may well find you simply cannot get into the bar, it is very much a matter of discretion in the examiners and discretion means they have great latitude unless they patently violate some rule of law or regulation by denying you entry. There is no right to practice law, its a privilege and it can be witheld for cause.
